Brian’s Garden

Brian’s Garden overview

Brian Glaspell loved growing food for his family, his neighbors and the Port Townsend Foodbank. This 9th Foodbank Garden that began in April 2021 is our first memorial garden.

There are 4000 sq. ft. on private land in the valley between San Juan and Cherry St. in Port Townsend that were productive until quite recently. Our hope is to clear the weeds, add mulch and irrigation and plant winter squash and perennial vegetables like artichoke, rhubarb and various kales. Weeding and harvesting will be required, but hopefully, these will help build winter garden production for the Foodbank.

Below are some photos from the first couple of work parties held at Brian’s Garden.

Please consider volunteering to help bring this garden back to its former productive glory.
