Gleaning Opportunities

Looking for ways to have fun outdoors while helping to nourish your community and reduce food waste? TRY GLEANING!

Gleaning opportunities this season:

Quimper Community Harvest will be picking fruit in Port Townsend for the sixth year! Contact Seth: 379.0414 to volunteer or Cathie: if you have a tree that you would like them to glean.

South County Community Harvest is a new group being formed by OlyCAP and Rotary First Harvest to get more gleaned produce into the food assistance programs in Quilcene, Brinnon, and Tri-Area. Volunteer opportunities include: field and bin gleaning on local farms, fruit picking in South County neighborhoods, and distributing gleaned goods to food assistance sites. Gleaning events have begun for the season. Already over 200 lbs of various leafy greens have been harvested and donated to the local food banks! Big thanks to Red Dog farm and Spring Rain Farm!

Contact Gleaning Coordinator, Anna for more information or to sign up to volunteer. Phone: 367.1655 Email:
