Foodbank gardeners Polly Thurston and LaMer Riehle worked last week in the PTHS Community Garden to sheet compost the area slated for the garden expansion. The high school recently received notification that they have been awarded one of the master gardener grants to pay for deer fencing for this expansion. The garden will about double in size to 4,784 sq. ft. and should provide much more produce next spring and summer for the food bank.
Foodbank gardener work days at the PTHS Community Garden are scheduled every Wednesday 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and Fridays at 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Hope to see you at the garden “up the hill” soon!
