BIG DAY IN THE FOOD BANK GARDEN!

Things are really cranking in the food bank garden—have you seen the tomatoes lately?? Tomorrow  is Wednesday, which means we’ll be in the garden 10-3 focusing on harvesting, trellising, seeding starts, and making signs for next week’s container gardening class. COME ON BY! Get your hands in the dirt! Help feed your community good food!

  1. Yay, go PT-FBG.
In my particular case, I get my food from the Food Bank. Since I believe this is very avant-garde and there will be many more FB customers working in the PT-FB Garden, I would like to share my observation that the Food Bank begins calling names at 10:30.
Also, I’m an early riser on Wednesdays, so as to sign up around 7.
Last week worked out well, with the jobs listed on the board. I’ll plan to show up early and get started in a way that’s also timely for me. Posting the work list the day before helps, thank you.
My sense of all this is that we’re laying foundation for several family and community gardens that supply the PT Food Bank; that is, we have potential for this to be the beginning of a sustainability school.
    Thanks,
    Michael
